Sum 41 Releases Seventh Studio Album: 'Order In Decline'

July 19, 2019

By Maruful Hossein

We ALL know Sum 41 from their past hits such as "Fat Lip" and "In Too Deep." What you might not have known is the band just released an album today (July 19th) called Order In Decline. ...and it's HEAVY!

This is the first release from Sum 41 since frontman Deryck Whibley had a near-death experience due to alcohol addiction in 2014.

While listening to Order In Decline, you can hear there's more anger and aggression laced in these tracks as opposed to the band's earlier releases such as Chuck and All Killer, No Filler. Whibley does not hold back any feelings and even took full control of the production, engineering, and mixing of the album.

"I want fans to take away what they want to from this record. It really is open to interpretation for each listener. To some, it could be a political record, to some it could be a social commentary, but for me, it's just a personal record," says Whibley.

Their first single, "Out For Blood," landed in the 17th spot on Billboard's Top 20 chart for Active Rock Radio -- and at the number 1 spot in our hearts for that crippling solo at 2:15. Anyway, this was the first time the band as seen this amount of recognition since 2005.

Sum 41 also has released "45 (A Matter of Time)", "Never There", and "A Death In The Family" as singles from the album

In total, streams from the new album have already racked up over 9 million.
