If there is one thing New Yorkers know how to do, it's rally in a crisis. 

This weekend, a power outage took down a good chunk of Manhattan - Broadway shows were cancelled, people were trapped in elevators, subways got all jacked up, even J. Lo got shut down mid-song...

It was chaos. But that didn't stop the thousands of New Yorkers affected from having a moment...

Canceled shows took to the sidewalks...

Citizens stepped up and directed traffic...

And 24-hour bodegas kept on keeping on...

Then the lights went back on and the city collectively cheered.

What's crazy is that it all went down on the 42nd Anniversary of the 1977 blackout. Whaaa?

They still don't know what caused the blackout. Maybe the Area 51 Aliens?
