Ahead of the 20th anniversary reissue of Semisonic's Feeling Strangely Fine slated for release this fall on October 19th, the Minneapolis band has unearthed a live demo version of aruguably their most famous song -- not to mention all of the '90s -- "Closing Time."

Listening to the demo (above) versus the original released in 1998 (below) you'll notice a heavier guitar sound on the former and a more polished, pop sound on the latter. Either way, both versions feature the iconic lyrics you've come to memorize over the years, something Andy Bernard and Stanley Hudson at Dunder Mifflin will surely appreciate.

The deluxe anniversary edition of Feeling Strangely Fine comes out on October 19th and includes music you haven’t heard as well as additional artwork and liner notes. In addition to an expanded CD edition, it will be the first ever Semisonic album released on vinyl.

The band has launched a PledgeMusic campaign to make even more items available to fans, like autographed CDs and LPs, T-shirts, posters, personal rarities, and more PLUS every pledger will receive exclusive content, including special recordings from Semisonic’s archives of demos and live performances.

Hey - check out this clip of John reminiscing about the original mixing board tape from the Feeling Strangely Fine sessions! These are some of the cool archival items we’d made available for our PledgeMusic campaign in celebration of the 20th Anniversary reissue of Feeling Strangely Fine.
