Just before frontman and songwriter Chris Carrabba performed center court at Forest Hills Stadium during ALT 92.3's Summer Open on Sunday, June 23rd, Dashboard Confessional announced the release of a new album, Now Is Then Is Now. The new release is a triple LP that features reimagined versions of the band’s 2003 albums, A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar, their 2006 album Dusk and Summer, and their 2009 album, Alter the Ending.

A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar (2003)

Dusk and Summer (2006)

Alter the Ending (2009)

Dashboard Confessional has become huge for the ALT music scene as they made their way to success as a four-piece rock band. However, Chris Carrabba started Dashboard Confessional off solo, playing just an acoustic guitar and screaming infidelities like no one else can.

The idea for the new release came about when he was looking through boxes of old memorabilia, memories from his first tour etc. According to Carrabba, "I found the original handwritten lyrics to Dusk and Alter before there was any critiques leveled at them. I looked at them and those were some of my best lyrics I’ve written. I should have known that and trusted myself. I was able to correct a mistake…"

By going back to his roots and using the lyrics that he had originally written, Carrabba created Now Is Then Is Now.
