The Golden Globes were on TV last night: millions of people tuned into the first big awards show of the year. I was not one of them. Instead, I was watching three gamers race to see who could finish Super Mario Bros. 3 first. It was glorious, and just one highlight from the first day of this year's AGDQ: Awesome Games Done Quick

Games Done Quick raises money for charity by streaming video game speedruns, and AGDQ is an annual 24/7 gaming marathon that lasts over a week. As of Monday morning (1/6), this year's AGDQ has raised almost $200k for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. There are prizes to be won and all kinds of fun to be had. I look forward to it every year. Here's the schedule of games being played through next Sunday, 1/12: there are classic arcade games, brand new ones, and everything in between. This is the link to stream AGDQ on Twitch, and here's LAST year's SMB3 run for your viewing pleasure.
