Have you ever dreamed of tapping your phone to board the subway? That dream is close to coming true. Google and the MTA have teamed up so riders can use Google Pay for select subway and bus fares starting May 31st - all Staten Island buses and subway stations along the 4-5-6 lines between Grand Central and Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to start. You won't even have to open the app before you tap. For even more product integration, Google Maps will show you which routes are accepting the new method of payment. Technology!

Fingers crossed that this test run goes well and expands - especially for those of us who experience swiping anxiety as we approach the train, fearing those terrifying words: "SWIPE AGAIN AT THIS TURNSTILE." Shudder.
