Flashback Friday: Bastille "Flaws"

Bastille is having a serious moment right now, thanks to the band's smash collaboration with Marshmello - and just in time for Not So Silent Night. Let’s go back to Bastille’s beginnings for Flashback Friday.

Dan from Bastille is a fairly self-deprecating guy, and almost every time I’ve seen them perform, he mentions that he’s a terrible dancer. (He’s harder on himself than he needs to be.) But there’s also a moment in almost every Bastille set where Dan takes off into the crowd, much to their delight. It’s during “Flaws”, a track from Bastille’s debut album Bad Blood. The first time I witnessed this was at a tiny club: Dan actually stopped right in front of me. There may have been swooning.

The venues have gotten bigger, and the distance Dan has to run longer, but the joy during that song remains the same. "Flaws" is all about embracing the things about yourself you may not like - your dancing ability, perhaps. Those things are what make you YOU. Can't wait to see Dan sprinting through Barclays Center!

See Bastille and a ton of other ALT bands at Not So Silent Night on December 6th: get your tickets here.
