Proposed Bill Would Ban Cell Phone Use For Anyone Under 21

Lawmaker says they're dangerous.

January 10, 2020

Before you panic, this bill is proposed in Vermont.  But....are they serious?  It would make it illegal for anyone under the age of 21 to use or possess a cell phone in the state.  The bill is S.212 if you wanna read it, but the punishments proposed are more insane than the law itself.  A YEAR behind bars or $1,000 fine or both!

The guy behind the asinine-ness is Sen. John Rodgers, a Democrat, who says he's just trying to make a point.

“I have no delusions that it’s going to pass, I wouldn’t probably vote for it myself," he says.  But he’s a strong supporter of Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms and the legislature “seems bent on taking away our Second Amendment rights.”  The bill says,  "the internet and social media, accessed primarily through cellphones, are used to radicalize and recruit terrorists, fascists and other extremists."

He said based on the information presented in his bill, a cellphone is much more dangerous than a gun.

Isn't proposing a bill that you wouldn't even vote for.....stupid?
