Matty Healy Wants To Produce a Taylor Swift Album

But why?

September 26, 2019

The 1975's Matty Healy..

A post shared by matty (@trumanblack) on the headline says, wants to produce a Taylor Swift record.

Let's get to the "why."  He was on a podcast called "The Green Room," which you can hear here, when they started talking about Matt's pop star peers, some of whom “aren’t really saying anything about the world about themselves, or about the world,” Healy said, “so it becomes more obvious to me that I need to utilise this cultural position I have.”

Taylor came up and Matt said, “I would never slag Taylor off, I think Taylor’s amazing,” before saying he wanted to produce her next album. An acoustic one, like Bruce Springsteen's "Nebraska."

Say what now?

Matty continued with,  “I can’t think of a record that would sell more than that. Like, Taylor Swift’s intimate return to country. Of course, you’d wanna produce that! She’s [probably> gonna sit on that idea, but Taylor, if you ever want someone to help you set up the mics for your acoustic record, just so you know, I’m there.”

Fine.  Just know that if that happens, Matt, her next album will be filled with songs about YOU, because there's no way you two ain't hooking up.

Full disclosure, I like this song:
