Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) came up to the RADIO.COM Theater to sit down with ALT 92.3's Bryce this week and opened up about his new album Hotel Diablo which features the single "I Think I'm OKAY" featuring YUNGBLUD and Travis Barker. He explains that Hotel Diablo isn't a place, rather a mental state and had to defend his album cover choice multiple times when others wanted to change it to an image of an actual hotel. He also said his daughter quickly shot down the original name of the album, which was "Delirium." MGK went on to joke that his friend/producer Zane Lowe said that title sounded like "it should be a shitty magic show."

An obvious point of conversation with MGK is his tattoos... he's got a few. He says some of his ink is "just dumb" and goes on to explain, "I got a lot of them when I was 15 or 16 and my mind is in a different place now."

The latest single that's been in everyone's headphones is "I Think I'm OKAY" and features YUNGBLUD and, Blink 182 drummer, Travis Barker. When talking about being in the studio with Travis, MGK says "I got the best version of Travis..." after explaining that the style he used was similar to that on "Stay Together For The Kids" - a fan favorite Blink 182 track. He also said that when he first came up with the song idea that YUNGBLUD was the first singer that came to mind. MGK tells us that YUNGBLUD showed up to his house and walked in without knocking. He then freestyled his whole verse in studio that day.

Alternative music is an obvious influence on MGK's style... even in his 'rap' songs. When asked about releasing rock music, MGK reveals for the first time he "has so many rock songs recorded", detailing another track he worked on with Travis Barker, that he compares to "Wonderwall" by Oasis. The song is called "Times Of My Life" and an eager MGK tell us he's ready to just "release it already."

Before heading out, MGK weighed in on the beefs in today's alternative scene. When asked about Marilyn Manson and Trent Reznor's beef (which has since been squashed), MGK couldn't pick a side. When asked about The Used VS My Chemical Romance, he also couldn't pick a side but admitted he's "not mad... just disappointed" at the rivalry. There was one beef however that he couldn't be MORE decisive about -- Fred Durst VS Scott Stapp of Creed. With almost no hesitation, MGK responded, "...fuck Creed, man." Indeed.

Machine Gun Kelly's Hotel Diablo is in stores and streaming now.
