Only in 2018 do we get news from The Raconteurs & Limp Bizkit

not all nostalgia is created equal

This Week, the second of October in the year of our lord, two thousand and eighteen is off with a bang.  It's one that dredges up the memories of yesteryear both positive and also... well, questionable. Lets start with the good and work our way back.

Coming off a solid year on the road in support of his latest solo offering, 'Border House Reach', Third Man Records head honcho and former White Stripes frontman, Jack White, has shared his intentions to resurrect his long beloved first second band, The Raconteurs for their first new music since 2008's 'Consolers of The Lonely'.  In fact, the news comes in tandem with the announce of a deluxe 10 year anniversary re-issue of the aformentioned LP, which is now set to include a limited 7" of 2 recently recorded tracks, which will also feature on the forthcoming new record.  Available only through Third Man's subscription service, The Vault, the re-release comes pressed on copper metallic foil vinyl, alongside a set of collectable coins, and an official Raconteurs insignia patch. Sign up to grab all that here.

In more peculiar news, nu-metal (remember nu-metal?) stalwarts Limp Bizkit and Insane Clown Posse have returned to the headlines, but not the good kind like you want.  The two oft maligned groups were playing Camden NJ's Rock Allegiance fest over the weekend, when ICP member, Shaggy Two Dope, took it upon himself to mosey onstage and attempt to drop kick unsuspecting LB frontman, Fred Durst, in the head.  As you can see from the video below, it didn't end well for Mr. Dope, and Durst, frankly looks like he lucked the hell out and avoided a potentially serious injury.  Why any of this happened, who can really say, but seeing as this somehow isn't the weirdest thing that's happened this year, I can only say brace yourself, 2019 is coming.
