Turns out Woodstock isn't the only festival with a run of bad luck this year, as AlienStock, the Internet spawned festival spearheaded by "Storm Area 51" Facebook event page founder, Matty Roberts, has been canceled.

Referencing the massive fallout of Fyre Fest, Robert's issued a statement which explained, "We foresee a possible humanitarian disaster in the works, and we can’t participate in any capacity at this point," he also described, "a lack of infrastructure, poor planning, risk management and blatant disregard for the safety of the expected 10,000+ AlienStock attendees."

It's worth noting the original, insanely viral FB event, "Storm Area 51, The Can't Stop All Of Us" boasts 2 million RSVP confirms alongside another 1.5m marked "interested".

While the obvious thing to assume here is that this is all part of a greater government conspiracy to keep people away from the famed military base, it's probably simply due to the fact that they have literally no idea how to judge event needs without selling hard tickets and someone finally talked to a lawyer about the immense liability issues this opens them up to. There also seems to have been some contentiousness between the festival founders and site management for the original event location in Rachel, Nevada.

Adding to the aforementioned quote, Roberts states: "We are not interested in, nor will we tolerate any involvement in a FYREFEST 2.0. We foresee a possible humanitarian disaster in the works, and we can’t participate in any capacity at this point." Yikes.

That said, if you don't mind renting a car, festivities haven't entirely been called off, as a smaller version of AlienStock has been relocated to the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center where a free, 21+ party featuring a secret musical line up will be held. If somehow this still sounds like something you want to attend, by all means, get the full event details for next week's fest here
