Mike Shinoda Creates Custom Art For Fan At Barclays Center

December 7, 2018

Musician and artist Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park, Fort Minor) took some time before his incredible set at Brooklyn's Barclay's Center on December 6th, to create a custom piece of artwork for lucky listener Rachel at ALT 92.3's Not So Silent Night.

"I've got paper and these markers, but I don't know what... what do you want me to draw," Shinoda asked excitedly when they met backstage.

Rachel suggested a tribute to Shinoda's late Linkin Park bandmate Chester Bennington, who sadly passed on July 20th, 2017.

Mike remembered how Chester had gotten fish tattoos early on, which were some of his favorites. So he created a special piece on the spot for Rachel to take home and treasure while blasting Mike and Chester's Linkin Park records and side projects -- a wonderfully personal way to keep Chester's memory, and the memory of his and Mike's close friendship alive.
