It's tough to believe we're closing in on two years since the world lost one of it's most revered frontmen, and a true alternative staple, Chris Cornell.

Lending his pipes to the legendary reunited Soundgarden, RATM tag-team super group Audioslave, and of course the steward of a hearty solo career, Cornell's imprint on Alternative music won't soon be forgotten, especially if those close to him have anything to say about it.  Following a massive multi-disc career spanning box set released earlier this year, a tribute show to the Seattle born icon goes down tonight (1/16) in LA and the Forum, and the line-up continues to balloon to new heights by the hour.

"I Am The Highway", as it's being billed, a nod to the Audioslave track of the same name, will see proceeds directed to the Chris & Vicky Cornell foundation, as well as the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation.

Helping to celebrate the life of a likely friend and inspiration to many, include performances by (deep breath) Metallica, Foo Fighters, the surviving members of Audioslave, Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, members of Janes Addiction and Black Sabbath, Ryan Adams, The Melvins, Miley Cyrus, FIonna Apple, Josh Homme of Queens Of The Stone Age, Mike Patton, Brandi Carlille, Chris Stapleton, and Miguel.  With Hosting duties helmed by Jimmy Kimmel alongside the likes of Brad Pitt, Josh Brolin, Tom Hanks, Courtney Cox, David Spade and more.

It's bound to be a truly special night which swells with the undeniably resounding respect of a massive community of cultural icons in tandem with countless fans, before it even begins.  Check back for footage and updates as they arrive later this week on Alt923radio.com
