‘Alkaline Trio The Pizza’ Now Available At Vinny’s Pizzeria, Brooklyn

February 7, 2018

By Joe Cingrana

Brooklyn’s iconic Vinny’s Pizzeria have outdone themselves on their “specials bored” once again — this time giving a nod to the wokeness of the borough’s post-punk inhabitants. Three new “animal-friendly” pizza options named after Illinois rockers Alkaline Trio and two of their albums were featured on the specials board, and even got noticed by the band’s founder and current blink-182 singer, Matt Skiba.

Co-Owner Sean Berthiaume has been designing the restaurant’s “specials boreds” since 2010 and has accumulated over 700 of them in that time.

Yesterday’s specials were the “AlKALEine Trio” pie with fresh kale, sliced tomato, krispy bacon, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses and honey mustard sauce; The “From Here Chew Infirmary,” a play on words of the band’s third full length From Here To Infirmary which has sliced tomato, pesto, garlic cheddar and mozzarella cheese; and finally the “Godhamnit” pie playing on the band’s first full length album title, Goddamnit which boasts vegan ham, pineapple, jalapenos, vegan cheese and fresh parsley.
